Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park is one of the smallest Uganda National Parks and lies near Mbarara in western Uganda. Covering about 370 square kilometres, it is known for zebras, impalas, and beautiful lakes. Its location makes it a perfect stopover for travellers heading to other safari destinations.
Visitors can see zebras, elands, and buffaloes during guided drives. The park’s rolling hills and open grasslands create beautiful scenery.
Boat trips provide close views of hippos, crocodiles, and birds along the lake shores.
Unlike many Uganda National Parks, Lake Mburo allows walking safaris where visitors explore nature on foot with a ranger.
The dry months from June to August and December to February offer the best wildlife viewing opportunities.
Lake Mburo is about four hours by road from Kampala along the highway to Mbarara. It is one of the easiest parks to access.
