This 12 Days Uganda wildlife tour takes you on a thrill-ride through the amazing Northern Uganda Circuit. Some of these remote areas are seldom visited by tourists and you can leave a personal imprint on the land you walk. Expect to see many of the most sought-after the animals of the Savannah (lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and, leopard) in beautiful, unspoiled and compelling landscapes. This trip includes some of the most beautiful adventure spots of Uganda; Murchison Falls National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park, Sipi Falls, Jinja the source of the Nile, and the Karamojong.

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda
You’re met at the airport by our safari guide who will transfer you to the hotel reserved for you in Kampala or Entebbe.

Day 2: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park (5-6hrs)
You have an early breakfast and drive to Murchison Falls National Park via the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. There are over 20 white rhinos and tracking is done on foot for 90 minutes. You continue to Masindi Town for an African lunch and the entire journey takes 6-7 hours.

Day 3: Game drive and launch cruise along the Nile
Set off at 6.30am for a sunrise game drive on the Nyamsika plateau to see Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog, lions, leopards and spotted hyenas. After lunch, launch cruise to view the 45m Murchison Falls. Crocodiles and hippos reside on the banks of the Nile. Common birds here include goliath herons, Egyptian geeses, pelicans, kingfishers, hornbills, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork. The boat stops just ten meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”.

Day 4: Visit to the top of the fall and travel to Kitgum town
After breakfast, visit the top of Murchison falls. Thereafter, set off on a 9 hour journey to Kitgum in the northern part of Uganda where you will have an overnight stopover.

Day 5: Drive to Kidepo Valley National Park
You continue the journey to Kidepo Valley National Park. The journey to Kidepo from Kitgum takes 4 – 7 hours depending on the weather which determines the state of the roads here.

Day 6: Game drive and safari walk in Kidepo
Wake up early for a game drive in the park. In Kidepo you find zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, cheetah and ostrich. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast and go off in the mid afternoon for a nature walk.

Day 7: Visit to Kanangorok Hot-Springs
Drive to the border of Uganda and Sudan where hot springs are found. This area harbours many ostriches which can be sited on the game tracks. In the late afternoon, enjoy the peace and beauty of the park on a leisure drive at your pace.

Day 8: Cultural Village Tour in Kidepo
You’re taken on a guided cultural village tour to learn about the lifestyle of the people around Karenga and Kidepo where you visit Karamajong homesteads (manyattas), cattle, traditional costumes, stools, spears, headdress, knives, bows and arrows, jewelry, grinding stones and utensils made locally by natives. In the evening you’re taken for a sunset game drive.

Day 9: Travel to Sipi
After breakfast, set off for Sipi Falls on Mt Elgon. This is a 9 hour journey through the towns of Kotido and Soroti arriving in the afternoon.

Day 10: Hike to Sipi Falls
Hike to see the stunning Sipi falls and follow the challenging trail to two other waterfalls. You pass maize fields, coffee gardens, banana plantations and typical African homesteads. The more adventurous can go abseiling down the mountain to the bottom of the Sipi Falls.

Day 11: Transfer to Jinja
Head to Jinja to see the source of the Nile and enjoy some adventurous activities like white water rafting, jet boating, horse riding, mountain biking, quad biking or bungee jumping. Enroute, you stop at the Equator. You arrive late afternoon and relax at your hotel.

Day 12: Adventure on the Nile
Begin with white water rafting (optional) at the Source of the Nile at 09:30am with a briefing and gear fitting. It’s done on an 18 kilometre stretch of the Nile and no prior experience is required. The first few rapids are low grade (1, 2) to build confidence before more challenging levels are tackled. After the rafting adventure, you’re treated to a barbecue lunch before returning to Kampala for your late departure flight.

Visa requirements for Uganda
With effect from July 1, 2015, visa fees for entry into Uganda were revised as follows:

Please note:
All visa applications must be submitted online. Paper applications will not be processed and may result in delays.
Visa applications for holders of passports:
- Submit an online application here.
- Your passport must have been valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel and for 6 months after your expected departure from Uganda.
- You will need to submit a money order for the correct visa from the list above.
- You will need to submit a letter of invitation/introduction if you are travelling for business.
- You are required to present an international inoculation certificate against yellow fever at the point of entry in Uganda.
- Please enclose a prepaid, self-addressed UPS, FEDEX, DHL,USPS Priority or Express return envelope with your application. Regular envelopes are not accepted.
Visa applications for holders of travel documents
Holders of travel documents (not passports) issued by the U.S. Immigration Department to refugees are required to submit the following in addition to the above requirements.
- An invitation from the host legally residing in Uganda.
- A letter obtained by the host from the local authorities (e.g. Local Council Chairman) confirming he/she resides in that locality.
- A copy of the host’s photo ID such as a drivers licence, national ID card or passport.
