4 Days Queen Elizabeth safari

Day 1 : Depart from Kampala for Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After an early morning breakfast in Kampala, you’ll be picked up by your tour guide at 6:30am to drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, stopping on the way at the Equator for photos. You can perform water experiments that demonstrate the divide between the two hemispheres and craft centers where you can get souvenirs. Further along the drive is another stop at Igongo Cultural Center for lunch. Here, you’re served organically and fresh African cuisine at the famous Kahwa Kanuzire restaurant. Finally you’ll arrive in Queen Elizabeth National Park in the evening for relaxation and dinner, before the overnight stay.

Day 2: Leisure day with afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel.

After lunch, connect to Mweya Jetty or UWA boat for an afternoon boat cruise at 2-3pm. The cruise through ‘paradise of hippos’ features impressive sights of Hippos and Nile crocodiles, birds like the Yellow billed stork and Kingfishers. After the 2 hour trip, game drive along the channel as you connect back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and sleep.

Day 3: A morning game drive & afternoon Kazinga Channel launch cruise

After breakfast, embark at 7am to the Kasenyi area where wild game like elephants, water bucks, Uganda Kobs, Buffaloes, Lions, Spotted Hyenas, leopards among others. The other sights include birds like the Palm-nut Vulture, African White-backed Vulture, Hooded Vulture, Ruppell’s Griffon Vulture, Brown Snake Eagle, Lappet-faced Vulture, Wahlberg’s Eagle or Bateleur.

After the 3 – 4 hour activity, connect to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. Iin the evening you may decide to visit lake Katwe which is well known for salt mining.

Day 4: Morning game drive / Optional Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Kampala

Start the day with breakfast before you connect to the park for another game drive to hopefully spot that which you might have missed and then transfer to Kampala.

Alternatively, go chimpanzee trekking (payable by client) in Kyambura gorge. Hiking the gorge’s steep slopes in search of chimps is a challenging task but the encounter will stay with you forever. After the 2 – 5 hours, you’ll then embark on the transfer to Kampala.

Visa requirements for Uganda

With effect from July 1, 2015, visa fees for entry into Uganda were revised as follows:

❭❭ Diplomatic Visa                   No fee

Please note:

All visa applications must be submitted online. Paper applications will not be processed and may result in delays.

Visa applications for holders of passports:

  1. Submit an online application here.
  2. Your passport must have been valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel and for 6 months after your expected departure from Uganda.
  3. You will need to submit a money order for the correct visa from the list above.
  4. You will need to submit a letter of invitation/introduction if you are travelling for business.
  5. You are required to present an international inoculation certificate against yellow fever at the point of entry in Uganda.
  6. Please enclose a prepaid, self-addressed UPS, FEDEX, DHL,USPS Priority or Express return envelope with your application. Regular envelopes are not accepted.

Visa applications for holders of travel documents

Holders of travel documents (not passports) issued by the U.S. Immigration Department to refugees are required to submit the following in addition to the above requirements.

  1. An invitation from the host legally residing in Uganda.
  2. A letter obtained by the host from the local authorities (e.g. Local Council Chairman) confirming he/she resides in that locality.
  3. A copy of the host’s photo ID such as a drivers licence, national ID card or passport.
