Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

To start you unforgettable exhaustive Ugandan tour, you arrive at Entebbe International airport and are picked up by our waiting guide/driver who will transfer you to the hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo and stop-over at the Equator

You will embark on the first leg of your journey to Lake Mburo in Western Uganda, crossing the Equator on the way, a journey that will take 4 – 5 hours. At the Equator, you can do fun water experiments as well as visit the crafts shops. The park, the smallest of Uganda’s Savannah national parks, 240 kilometres west of Kampala. It has animals like zebras, the exclusive impala and buffaloes. Late afternoon you have a boat cruise along Lake Mburo.

Day3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxing

The day begins with a morning game drive, after which you drive for 3 hours to Lake Bunyonyi for lunch. Lake Bunyonyi is known as place of “many little birds” and lies between Kisoro and Kabale close to the Rwanda border. It’s one of few lakes in the region said to be free of bilharzia, however, we advise you to make sure of this before you dive in!

Day 4: Transfer to Mgahinga gorilla National park

After an early breakfast, you depart for Mgahinga national park for the Batwa cultural experience. Learn about the indigenous Batwa on the Batwa Trail as the guides take you through the 8km trail, demonstrating their traditional ways of life along the way, including;  hunting, gathering honey, fire making and fetching water. The trail culminates with a moving performance in the Garama Cave, an important spiritual and cultural site for the Batwa.

Day 5: Golden monkey trekking

Trek through the bamboo forests in search of rare golden monkeys, endemic to this region. Pass spectacular vegetation on your way, and then enjoy the afternoon at your leisure.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi

Today you will embark on the journey to the famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park,  mostly famous for the rare mountain gorillas. Once in the park, however, you may encounter 120 mammal species, 348 bird species, 220 butterfly species, frogs, chameleons, geckos and many endangered species. Bwindi is amongst the most diverse forests in East Africa.

Day 7: Gorilla experience

After a briefing from your ranger guide we begin tracking mountain gorillas. This can take from a couple of hours to a whole day. Keep an eye out on the way for buffaloes, elephants, black fronted duikers and bush bucks. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest and discover their gorgeous natural habitat.

Day 8: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National park

Today you will journey to Queen Elizabeth National park. It covers 1978 km2; it’s position provides a magnificent view of the rift valley floor below. The park has one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any national park in the world with 95 mammal and 612 bird species. You will stay in this park for two nights.

Day 9: Safari/Game drive and boat trip afternoon

After breakfast, we go for Queen Elizabeth’s first game drive. You’ll spot plenty of indiginous wildlife, such as: elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, antelope and many tropical birds. Then we take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel where you will see plentiful amounts of hippos which come to the waterhole to drink and bathe.

Day 10: Game drive and transfer to Kibale Forest National park

You go for your second game drive through the ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National where the unique tree-residing lions bask. After lunch, you begin your journey to Kibale Forest National Park to the home of the primates and this journey takes about 4 hours.

Day 11: Chimpanzee trekking and bird watching

It’s time to visit your cousins in Kibale. The forest is interspersed with grassland and swamp, dominant in the northern and central parts of the park on an elevated plateau. The park is home to an unprecedented 13 species of primates which includes chimpanzees, monkeys, baboons and nocturnal bush babys. It also has over 375 species of birds. Kibale neighbors Queen Elizabeth National Park to the south to create a 180km-long corridor for wildlife.

The park lies close to the quiet Ndali-Kasenda crater area and within half a day’s drive of the Rwenzori Mountains, Semuliki National Parks and the Toro-Semliki Wildlife Reserve.

Day 12: Bird watching and drive to Murchison Falls park

You visit bigodi wetlands today, best known for bird watching. After you’ve gotten your fill of the local winged fauna, you can have lunch and then leave for Murchison falls National Park. On your way to Murchison Falls, you pass through small villages where you can interact with the locals and see tea plantations. The park has a rich diversity of animals such as Elephants, Water buck, Giraffes, The Uganda Kob, Lions and others.

Day 13: Safari & boat trip

This morning you go for a game drive coming face-to-face with; buffalo, giraffes, lions, leopards, elephants and many tropical birds. In the afternoon, you take a boat trip to the bottom of Murchison Falls. You have a chance to spot hippos, buffalo, water birds, apes, crocodiles and other wildlife that calls the Nile home.

Day 14: Visit Top of the Falls and drive to Masindi

You hike to the top of Murchison falls, after which you travel to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola and walk with an experienced ranger. Rhino Fund Uganda was founded to re-introduce rhinos to Uganda’s national parks, and eventually, it’s wilderness.

After the trekking, you will have lunch and then travel back to Kampala.

Day 15: Relaxation

You can rest today as you have the whole day to relax and prepare for the source of the Nile tour the next day. In the evening you have dinner at the Ndele cultural centre with cultural performances.

Day 16: Travel to Jinja

You will depart Kampala for Jinja. Visit Ssezibwa water falls in Mukono just 20 miles along Kampala-Jinja highway. We then proceed to Mabira forest along the Jinja road. Optional activities include; super sky way zip lining, bird watching, Uganda mamgabey monkey trekking, mountain climbing, and nature walks.

You will lunch enroute and then proceed to the magnificent source of the Nile. You will have a boat cruise to visit the point where lake Victoria separates from the Nile. You can choose to spend a night there or return to Kampala.
